Q&A WITH JOSH
Where do you LIVE?
I live in the Gov’s Park / Alamo Placita area. It’s a great area with lots of cool spots within walking distance. I have Pablo’s Coffee across the street for my morning caffeine fix, Lime around the corner for Taco Tuesday, Gov’s Park Tavern for watching Bronco games, and best of all a brand new Trader Joe’s! I also love that I’m close to down town and Cherry Creek, and have easy access to all the other parts of the city.
Why Real Estate... Aren't There Enough Agents On The Planet Already?
There are a TON of agents out there! But it takes more than just holding a license to be a great Realtor. I have a true passion for the city and for real estate in general. Buying a new home is usually the biggest purchase in a person’s life, and I get to bring my knowledge and passion to help in that process. There’s nothing better!
What Music Is Currently In Your iPod?
My musical taste varies, but I’ve been loving all the home grown bands who have really taken off in the last few years. The Lumineers have been at the top of the playlist recently. Other bands that I’m a fan of include The Killers, Momford and Son’s, Kings of Leon, Beasty Boys, Green Day, Tom Petty, and U2. I even mix in some Country, especially in the summer time.
What Cause Gets Your Time And Money?
Poverty and homelessness are the two causes that really inspire me to action. I find volunteering with Habitat for Humanity to be extremely rewarding, something about putting your own sweat and effort into actually building a home for a deserving family. I also think it’s important to support organizations like the Denver Rescue Mission, and Food Bank of the Rockies. I always try to remember that even as the amazing developments in Denver have improved the quality of life for many of our residents, there have been some that have been left behind and should not be forgotten.
Give It Up. What Local Restaurant Is Your Best Kept Secret?
I’m an adventurous eater and love variety. Best kept secret might be my favorite breakfast burrito spot, Gomez Burritos off of Park Avenue and I-25. Another great spot that not a lot of people have been to is Mataam Fez. It’s a Moroccan restaurant where you sit on the floor on a pile of pillows, eat course after course of amazing food with your hands, all while being entertained by belly dancers and acrobatic tea pouring waiters. It’s a full experience as well as an amazing meal.
